When George Glasgow Jr CEO of George Cleverley first approached me, he gave me a list of places I should visit for inspiration on ‘what not to do’ he then followed with ‘it must end up looking like it’s been here forever’. Unusual for a shop front, I thought. This classic British brand is the only privately owned bespoke shoe makers left in the country. It embodies everything you’d expect from a world class, luxury ‘made to measure’ shoe manufacturer based from a Dickensan arcade shop off of Bond Street. These shoes are still made on site by some of the best craftsmen in the world. The shop design had to take second place yet needed to capitalise on everything once of space available.
